BT Moto Stage 1+ ECU Flash – Honda Goldwing GL1800 2018–2026 EU4/EU5

The BT Moto Stage 1+ ECU Flash is developed to optimize the restrictive factory calibration of the 2018–2026 Honda Goldwing GL1800. Using the included BT Moto Handheld Tuner, the factory ECU can be read and flashed directly on the motorcycle without removing or shipping the ECU. 

BT Moto recalibrates strategies including electronic throttle control, fueling, ignition and the factory speed limiter. The result is sharper throttle response, more usable power and stronger acceleration while retaining the comfortable character of the Goldwing.

Rather than focusing exclusively on peak horsepower, BT Moto addresses restrictions within the factory electronic throttle strategy to provide a more direct relationship between rider input and engine response. 

Dyno Results

BT Moto has tested several generations of the GL1800. A 2019 Goldwing GL1800 DCT running 91-octane fuel gained more than 15 WHP according to BT Moto, while a 2021 GL1800 DCT tested on 87-octane fuel gained approximately 10 WHP. 

Development testing of the newer 2025 EU5 Goldwing showed an even larger improvement, with BT Moto reporting nearly 20 WHP additional power near redline. The EU5 ECU uses different control strategies compared with the earlier EU4 version.

Dyno figures are test results and should not be considered guaranteed performance gains. Actual results can vary depending on model year, ECU version, fuel, motorcycle configuration and testing conditions.

BT Moto Handheld Tuner

The included BT Moto Handheld Tuner allows the factory ECU to be read and programmed from your own garage or workshop. The original calibration is stored, allowing the motorcycle to be returned to its factory mapping when required.

The handheld can store multiple ECU files and receive updated calibrations from BT Moto without repeatedly removing and shipping the ECU.

EU4 / EU5 Connection

The OBD connection can differ depending on model year and market. According to BT Moto, US-spec 2018–2024 Goldwings use the EU4-style connection, while US-spec 2025+ models use the newer 6-pin EU5 connection. European and other market versions can differ.

Check the OBD connector fitted to the motorcycle before ordering.
